The Museum of Life and Science invites you to deepen your family’s relationship with nature. Through a series of active, play-based workshops, you and your child will discover new ways of connecting to the natural world and each other. Create and build with natural materials, hunt for nature’s treasures, and explore secluded, off-trail areas at the Museum and the adjacent Ellerbe Creek. Parents and caregivers will gain experience supporting independent and creative play, and go home with resources to enrich experiences in their own backyard or park. The Museum is honored to present this workshop thanks to a grant from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, funded with support from the Disney Foundation.
These workshops can be taken individually or as a series of three. Register for all three workshops and get a free Explore Outdoors kit to take home!
Friday workshops are recommended for children ages 3-6 years with a caregiver. Saturday workshops are recommended for children ages 5-8 years with a caregiver. We kindly request that each adult accompanies a maximum of two children.
